Objectives and Target of the Project

The objective is to develop a modern and integrated National Statistical System (NSS)) and enhance the capacity of BBS and other data producing agencies to produce, manage, use and disseminate reliable, timely, and high-quality data to support transparency and evidence-based policymaking.

The specific oblectives of the project are as follows:

1. Building a robust, comprehensive, and well-coordinated NSS.

2. Modernizing the statistical system and improving BBS's capacity to produce and disseminate timely data.

3. Upgrading physical and statistical infrastructure to support efficient data collection and analysis.

4. Enhancing human resource capacity and management of BBS.

5. Improving the production, quality, dissemination, and use of statistics for informed decision-making through innovation

6. Strengthening administrative data, national accounts, environment, climate change, natural resource, disaster risk and socio-economic including gender statistics.

7. Strengthening sub-national BBS offices at Division, Zila, and Upazila levels.
